
Dr. Marvin Regier
Vocal Coach, Vocal Pedagogue and Voice Physiology, Music Director, Singer/Songwriter, Piano Accompanist

Marvin Regier began his teaching career at a Mennonite College in Saskatchewan, Canada. He has conducted ensembles, directed music theatre and taught voice at universities and music colleges in Canada and the USA, including, the University of Oregon in Eugene, the University of Washington in Seattle and at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Dr. Regier directed the Vocal Ensemble and was Head of Voice at the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, B.C. from 2008-2013. Recently, he retired as the musical director and choir teacher at Glenlyon Norfolk School.
Marvin was employed as a bari-tenor soloist in Canada as a member of the Vancouver Opera (EQUITY), and, as a member of the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA). His singing career granted him the opportunity to perform in South America, Europe, China, Hong Kong and throughout the United States and Canada. His doctoral dissertation on the operatic tenor of the French Baroque, “The Haute-contre Voice”, has received international recognition from the North American Association of Teachers of Singing (NAATS), the European Voice Teachers Association (EVTA) and the Association Française Professeurs du Chant (ATPC), who invited him to be their guest lecturer at the NATS International Millennium Festival, Lyon Opera House, France.
In addition to his solo career, Dr Regier is very active as a vocal pedagogue, music theatre director, music festival adjudicator, and, a guest clinician for vocal and choral workshops. As a clinician for the summer vocal pedagogy session at Columbia University in 2007 the New York Singing Teachers Association (NYSTA) recognized him as a “Master Teacher”.
